Riona Whyte

Debut album from Riona, born and brought up in Morvern - a stunning collection of her personal favourite traditional Gaelic songs.

Music has always been an important and essential part of Riona's life, she has been singing solo from an early age and has also been an active member of groups, choirs as well as duets and quartets.

In 1986, Riona won the Silver Pendant at the National Mod in Edinburgh, she went on to win the coveted Gold Medal at the 2001 Stornoway National Mod, Scotland's Premier Gaelic Festival.

She is involved in many community projects and actively promotes Gaelic.

Since 2003 she has been running a Junior Mod Club on Mull.

The album name Bunachas, translated from Gaelic means root / foundation / ancestry. Includes a comprehensive booklet, background notes to the songs, Gaelic words and English translations.
